Counsellor in St Albans, Hertfordshire
Welcome to my website. If you are looking for a counsellor or therapy for yourself or a loved one, I hope that you will find my pages informative. Please do look around and see if you feel I could help.
My counselling training and experience
I am a fully qualified, experienced and accredited member of the BACP, MBACP(Accred) and strictly abide by their professional standards and code of ethics. As well as my private practice, I have experience of working as a staff member in a counselling agency in North London. I also work with women affected by domestic abuse. For more information and links to the BACP, please see my Counselling page.
All of us at some point in our lives may benefit from counselling. Recognizing that you need help with emotional problems is just as important as seeking help from your GP for physical ailments. You may have had a life changing event and feel out of control; nothing is the same as it was. You may have depression or have experienced domestic abuse or bereavement. You may feel lost, hopeless or despairing and don’t know why. Perhaps things aren’t too bad, but you have a feeling that talking to somebody impartial may help unravel a difficult dilemma. My Counselling page will give you more information on how therapy works.
What can counselling help with?
I am experienced in working with the following issues:
- Domestic abuse
- Relationship difficulties with family/work/friends
- Loss (of any kind)
- Sexual/Physical abuse
- Disordered eating
You'll find more about these and other areas I work with on my Services page.
First steps in therapy
I will offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space for you to talk about what is troubling you. I understand how difficult it may be to make that initial contact. The Counselling and Contact pages offer more information about what to expect.
