What to expect
After we have had a brief conversation a time can be arranged for an initial session. This will involve an assessment of what has brought you to counselling at this time and will give you a chance to get a feel of what the counselling process will entail. This will last for approximately one hour.
It is important that you feel comfortable; sometimes you may need to meet two or three different counsellors to be sure that you feel at ease. To promote this choice I charge a reduced fee for the initial assessment.
If you decide you wish to continue we will arrange a mutually convenient time to meet, usually once a week at the same time with each session lasting 50 minutes.
Initial assessment: £25
Individual sessions: £45
Payments are made via cash or cheque, either on the day of your session or monthly in advance.
I do allow some concessionary rates in my practice for students, those on benefits or on a low income. Please contact me if you need to discuss financial implications.
Entering into counselling requires commitment. Your sessions are kept open for you and subsequently any cancellations still require payment. If I have to cancel a session there will be no charge. I will always give advance notice of any breaks I may take and you will not be charged for these.
