  • A general feeling that there is something not right
  • As a means to gain a deeper awareness, to find the real you without the constraints of other's expectations
  • EAP referrals

This list is not exhaustive.

Specific areas that I deal with:

Depression

You may feel low at times, but depression can seep into our everyday lives and be debilitating and make the world seem hopeless and meaningless. Talking about these feelings can help you make sense of what your experience means to you and more importantly asks the question 'why?'

Domestic abuse

You may be in a relationship that does not feel right. There may be a power imbalance or you may find you are forward thinking ways to keep your partner from being angry. You may be put down and criticised and are constantly modifying your behaviour to be a 'better' partner. You may not be considering if this is abuse but wondering 'why does he/she do that?’ You may spend time looking for answers for his/her behaviour via personality disorders, childhood problems or drug and alcohol misuse.

I have specific knowledge, training and experience of working with women who are in or have left an abusive relationship. This is a very complex area; the confusion the woman (or man) is caught up in needs gentle understanding and exploration.

I am an organisational member of Women's Aid Federation England and keep up to date with current legislation and guidelines. Here's more information about the signs of domestic abuse.

I will not judge your situation, nor advise you on any specific course of action. Together we can explore what is happening, why this may be and what impact it may be having on you at this time.
